The SEKEM Shop now offers carbon credits by which you can reduce your own footprint and at the same time support the Greening the Desert Campaign. The returns from the carbon offset certificates will support SEKEM in reclaiming 63 hectares of desert land on its farm in Wahat El-Bahareya.
The available certificates are generated from SEKEM’s afforestation projects in the Egyptian desert and biodynamic agriculture on the SEKEM farms. By accumulating CO2 in the formerly arid desert soil, SEKEM creates a livelihood for the growing Egyptian population and also makes an active contribution to climate protection.
